Strategic Planning
- Helping organizations to think and act strategically, articulate a powerful and cogent vision for the future and develop proactive strategies to achieve their goals. This process includes engaging in a thorough organizational assessment examining organizational strengths and weaknesses, interviewing community and other stakeholders and conducting a sophisticated analysis of environmental trends and opportunities.
Board Development
- Assisting organizations to develop board recruitment strategies, board orientation programs and ongoing training on the duties and responsibilities of nonprofit board officers and directors in order to more effectively carry out the organizational mission.
Executive Coaching
- Providing consultation to executive directors and leadership staff to help diagnose organizational problems, develop solutions, maximize organizational strengths and build leadership capacity.
Fund Development and Grant Writing
- Assisting organizations to increase their funding base by conducting prospect research, teaching prospective cultivation skills, preparing proposals to private foundations and corporations, as well as, developing strategies for individual donor development.
Executive Transition Planning
- Assisting organizations with major leadership transitions including succession planning, selection of an interim executive director if needed, and assessment of the organization’s new leadership needs. CIC works with boards of directors to design and implement an executive director recruitment and selection strategy, as well as, facilitate the new executive director’s transition into the organization.
Leadership Skills Training
- Developing curricula and conducting training for grassroots advocates including: how to organize an advocacy campaign, techniques for effective coalition building, running effective meetings, consensus building and conflict resolution.
Needs Assessment and Program Evaluation
- Conducting a comprehensive analysis to determine community needs and evaluate program effectiveness using methods such as: surveys, focus groups, and key informant interviews with current and former clients, organizational members, funders and community stakeholders.
Program Planning
- Helping staff to define intended impact, design innovative programs, improve team work and strengthen existing services.
Public Policy Advocacy
- Developing pubic education campaign materials, policy reports, issue briefs, and other advocacy products to promote social and economic justice.
Outcomes Measurement
- Providing a step-by-step, practical approach to measuring program outcomes with a focus on tangible benefits for constituents and communities. Organizations discover how to construct a logic model that improves the program planning and evaluation process.
Retreat Facilitation
- Planning and facilitating special meetings in order to maximize the generation of new ideas and participant input, as well as, the development of action steps to achieve meeting objectives.
Website Development
- Helping to develop user friendly yet sophisticated websites that effectively market the organization and its products, expand membership and create online fundraising opportunities.
